Scenario 1~
You reach out to me via tumblr DMs. You request the following:
Some messy sketches of a character in black and white with an additional shot on the side. You provide an up to date reference on the character, so no additional designwork is needed. Further discussions iron out the posing and setting of the sketches. An initial invoice is sent for $30 to a provided email address, and work will not begin until it is paid. Once payment is completed, work begins.I send updates as they come & as they are requested, and at the end of the work, which looks something like this:
In the case of this specific commission, the sketches are nearly finished. 1 hour and 48 minutes of work was recorded by Clip Studio, which equates to an additional $45 charge at my standard rate of $25/hr. The total charge is $75.
Scenario 2~
You, the client, reach out to me via email. You request the following:
A NSFW, 2-character piece with references of the characters and posing included. Color will be flat, and inked, but with little further work added. An initial invoice is sent for $30 to a provided email address, and work will not begin until it is paid. Once payment is completed, work begins.I send updates as they come & as they are requested, and at the end of the work, which looks something like this:
In the case of this commission, the finished piece is recorded as taking a total of 3 hours and 41 minutes to complete, incurring an additional fee of $92. The total charge is $122.
Scenario 3~
You, the client, reach out to me via BlueSky DMs. You request the following:
As this is a character design commission, there will be a lot of back and forth, several iterations developed and approved, and lots of revisions. All of the art itself (sketching, concept design, revisions) will be calculated in the final cost, so there's no need for any additional charges or payment up front. An initial invoice is sent for $30 to a provided email address, and work will not begin until it is paid. Once payment is completed, work begins. Many sketches, many iterations, and some adjustments later, and I send a final update:
The final design in all of its versions took 9 hours and 11 minutes to complete, incurring a charge of $230. The final total is $260.
